A roof leak in the early 1900's caused the Venetian plaster to be removed from the ceilings and walls. The original wooden slats on which plaster is placed have been retained. The good news is anyone can restore those rooms as they want, because home is outside the city limits and is not subject to the stringent guidelines of the Historic Natchez Foundation as home within the city must do. The open walls and attic space leaves this area ripe for completion with newer products like spray foam insulation and additional electrical outlets, Coaxial cable, duct work and other necessities for the modern life. After inspection, this home is a perfect candidate for the National Registry of Historic Places. According to the current owners, inclusion in the Registry is a process that takes about a year to apply and become certified.
