Single Family Detached - Ingleside Antebellum Mansion

Ingleside Antebellum Mansion, circa 1830 is for sale for the first time in generations. From the Reading room you pass through a wet bar/butler's pantry and into the modern kitchen. The second floor as currently configured, is the landing atop the stairs which serves as the central hall for the second floor galleries, a billiards room and three other unfinished rooms and one partially finished room. The original intent of the rooms was four sleeping chambers with storage space/closets and an educational room that reaches out over the front portico. A roof leak in the early 1900's caused the Venetian plaster to be removed from the ceilings and walls. The original wooden slats on which plaster is placed have been retained. The good news is anyone can restore those rooms as they want, because home is outside the city limits and is not subject to the stringent guidelines of the Historic Natchez Foundation as home within the city must do. The open walls and attic space leaves this area ripe for completion with newer products like spray foam insulation and additional electrical outlets, Coaxial cable, duct work and other necessities for the modern life. After inspection, this home is a perfect candidate for the National Registry of Historic Places. According to the current owners, inclusion in the Registry is a process that takes about a year to apply and become certified.
