Tom Wiltse is a longtime resident of the Elk Rapids area, having moved to the area with his wife Susan in 1969. Both are graduates of Albion College. Tom taught science at Elk Rapids Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1999. Susan is also retired from teaching, after a 30 year career in early grades at Lakeland Elementary in Elk Rapids. She is currently operating the family self storage business, Pad Lock Storage, with 3 locations in Elk Rapids. The family also owns and operates a small manufacturing business in Elk Rapids, Paddlebuoy, manufacturing and selling paddleboards, since 1974.
Tom Wiltse has been an active Realtor since 2000, and has worked extensively with banks and asset management companies with bank-owned listings and sales since 2005. In addition to this specialized area of real estate, Tom and his team are quite active in the listing and sales of "fair market" residential, lakefront, and second home properties. With the able support of his competent staff, Tom is able to cover a wide range of the real estate market in the north. Although the office is in Elk Rapids, the team handles listings and sales in at least seven counties, including Antrim, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Wexford, Charlevoix, and Kalkaska counties. Tom does not warehouse his listings. Pricing is an art that experience has helped to perfect. He has one of the shortest "Days on Market" averages in the region, and has sold more of his listings in the last 4 years than any other Antrim county agent. Properties listed at the right price make both buyers and sellers happy. Call Tom Wiltse.
A little about myself .... I was born and raised in Mid-West Michigan (Big Rapids area) and have lived in that area and Northern Lower Michigan (Gaylord/Traverse City) all of my life. I graduated from Big Rapids High School and then attended Ferris State University in Business and Hospitality Management programs. From there I found myself in an unexpected but long and fulfilling career in management for McDonald's Restaurants for 16 years. McDonald's consistently taught me new and rewarding things not only about business but people and how to truly satisfy customers and be successful personally and professionally. I worked at every level from entry level management to 10 years at the General Manager and Area Supervisor levels.
When I made my decision to pursue new challenges professionally I went looking into another career I had always had a passion for and and interest in and that was real estate. Within a very short time I found my new home at CENTURY 21 with a wonderful team of people where I again consistently learn and try to improve myself and build new relationships and friendships. I believe that the more I can learn of every aspect of my job and the market area the better I can satisfy my clients and customers. Going out every day I know that it is my reputation and future on the line let alone the happiness I receive knowing that I have happy and satisfied clients/customers as well as new friends! I also hold myself to a higher standard of real estate education to further and better assist my clients. I currently hold NAR's ( National Association of Realtors) Green Designation, Short Sale Foreclosure Resource certification (SFR), Cartus relocation & USAA Movers certified, Accredited Buyers Representative ( ABR), and Century 21 Quality Service Award winner (4 years running) - rated 95%-%98%+ by my clients & customers! I also average my sellers 5-7+% more in average sales price than the local MLS average = more $$$ for my clients!!! I am Techonology savy and try to maintain the current trends and updates to continually give my clients top notch service including getting my website to rank very highly on Google & Bing, marketing your homes and properties on over 800+ websites + blogging sites, social media and more. My website www.c21jb.com also ranks in the top 2% in the world for Point 2 Agent real estate websites and the Top 1 % in the world for marketing.
I have been a resident of the Traverse City area for 13 years now and I have never felt more at home. What a beautiful area to live and offers a mass of entertainment and recreational opportunities.
When I am not busy working with my buyers and sellers to obtain their real estate goals I enjoy the outdoors & nature. Anything from rollerblading, biking, camping, hunting , golf, viewing wildlife and taking photographs of the scenery to relaxing at home, movies, music, dining out with friends etc. I value great friends, professional working relationships and my wonderful family. Though currently single I do have a close family and two wonderful nieces that are like my own and enjoy making improvements to my personal residence inside and out.
I hope this gives you a brief insight to me. Please feel free to contact me anytime whether you are considering buying or selling Traverse City area real estate, I look forward to hearing from and working with You!!! You may visit my website www.c21jb.com to view many testimonials from my customers and clients.
