In 1992 I obtained my Real Estate License and went to work for Century 21 Foote-Ryan. During the following four years I became one of the top producing agents for the company. In 1996 I took over the reins and started managing the company. In the past 16 years of running the company we have been the number one real estate office in Clinton County for 12 years.
In 1993 I was appointed as the New York Association of Realtors local representative for a three year term. I attended two business meetings a year to keep our local board abreast of all national and State issues affecting the Real Estate industry.
In 1997 I was elected secretary of the Clinton County Board of realtors. Over the next 5 years I stayed on the board as treasurer, Vice President, President and Director.
In 2000 I was asked to serve as the regional representative on the National Brokers Communication Congress for Century 21. It consisted two 2 meetings a year with one being held in Washington, DC where we meet with our regional elected officials to lobby for issues affecting our industry. The main function was working with Century 21 Corporate staff in improving the Century 21 system and tools based on feedback from its brokers and agents. I was also asked to come back on the local board of realtors as a director for a three year period.
In 2004 I was re-elected to the National Brokers Communication Congress for Century 21 where I served another 4 year term.
In 2005 my office under took a major fundraising campaign for Easter Seals where we raffled off a BMW Z4 convertible. We raised over $72,000.00 and donated over $18,000.00 to Easter seals of New York. We were recognized at the Century 21 National Convention as the largest supporter in the Century 21 system in the Northeast. After a 4 year break I was asked to serve again and am currently in year one of my 4 year term.
In 2006 I was asked to serve on the board of directors of the YMCA. I am currently the Vice President and head of the Building and Grounds committee. We are in the middle of a major fundraising campaign to raise money for some capital improvements the YMCA is in need of. We are 80% of the way to meeting our $125,000.00 goal.
In 2007 I was elected to the Adirondack Champlain Valley MLS board of directors. I am currently the Secretary/ Treasurer and next year will be serving as the Vice President. In 2007 I won the Realtor of the Year award for Clinton County.
This year I was asked by Bev Thorne the Senior Vice President of Marketing for Century 21, LLC. To attend a meeting as one of 6 brokers from the entire Century 21 System. Our job was to go through Century 21 corporate's accounting of our National Advertising Fund to ensure the monies spent were in line with our Century 21 Mission.
