.."Let me "work" for you to find your special place for "Island Fun" and discover "Island Time"..
"Work" is not a "four letter word," but a way of life. My parents instilled this work ethic in me- if you are going to do something, you do it right the first time and to the best of your ability - this is how I approach everything I do.
Growing up in Massachusetts- Johnny Appleseed Country - I worked on our family's apple orchard, and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelors degree in Music Education, from UMass and a Director of Fine Arts Certificate from Fitchburg State.
I moved to NC in 1977 (following my military spouse). Here, I raised 3 sons, taught for 15 years in the public school system, was an organist and choir master for two local churches, and worked for 7 years as the senior paralegal for a military law firm before moving to beautiful Emerald Isle with its lovely marshes, water and beach.
I became a licensed Real Estate Sales Associate in 2003 and Broker in 2004. My husband, a practicing attorney for 31 years is a NC Board Certified Specialist in Real Property (Residential). He felt my attention to detail, creativity, work ethic, teaching and listening skills provided the foundation to become a fine real estate professional. He taught me the necessity of detail and care in preparing real estate documents and working with the contract between parties.
I have lived on the water in Emerald Isle since 1997, a warm and educated community with interesting and accomplished residents. Emerald Isle provides different lifestyles. Finding the right community with whom new lasting relationships may be established is a key to many years of happiness and "Island Fun."
When you cross our bridge to the island, the view of the marshes, water and inlet is an unparalleled water extravaganza! After you cross this bridge, you will leave your cares on the mainland behind and begin "Island Time."
I am excited and ready to "work," using my knowledge of Emerald Isle, education, life experiences, & many hats, to help you find your special place for "Island Fun" and for you to begin, "Island Time."
Let me help you ......I will give you my best, and we will have fun along the way.
Entering the real estate business in Kinston, NC in 1983, I found the career meant for me. I have always enjoyed helping others, so you can imagine how excited I got over helping buyers find that first home. Then their families grew and they needed larger homes, or they retired, sold their house, and moved to the Beach. Before I knew it, I was one of the top producers. Served as President of the Board of Realtorsand got a few new subdivisions started.
Emerald Isle has been part of my life since early childhood, which was during the ferry days. I grew up vacationing here; and as a teenager coming on the weekends. I knew one day I would live at the Beach. I married my teenage sweetheart, had two beautiful girls, and then we purchased our "dream place" at Emerald Isle. It was a mobile home, but it was a dream come true. A place at the beach will keep your family together; it is a great way to spend more time with your kids and meet their friends.
After my husband died in 1994 and my kids were on their own, I moved to Emerald Isle (but they followed me) and started a new life and career with CENTURY 21 Coastland Realty. Working at the Beach is such a fun market. I love helping buyers find that perfect second home or just the right investment property. I especially love when customers come back to me or refer a friend or family member. What a compliment! Among my achievements and awards, my favorites are for quality service and the Century 21 Centurion producer. I call it my "Oscar."
When I am not working, I am playing. I love spending time with my two grandchildren. Next to real estate, that's what I am best at. I also love yoga, dancing, shopping , and reading on the Beach. My work has enabled me to meet so many people and make so many friends. I love what I do and always try to do my best. Let me put my best to work for you.
