After years of teaching and ministry, I became a real estate agent in 2005. It was a good fit for me because I love meeting new people and helping people. Since real estate is all about the needs of buyers and sellers, it was a great opportunity to turn my passions into actions! I grew up in South Carolina and have lived my adult life in 4 different southern states including Florida, Georgia, Virginia and now North Carolina. It is wonderful being able to live in the Carolinas again! The Charlotte area is an awesome place to live and work. My husband, Billy Ray, and I have been married since 1999 and we have a blended family. Together we have four grown children and 3 grandchildren. They live all over so it is a challenge getting to see them often. We ar e active in our church were I work with 9th and 10th grade girls. I also love to rock the babies in the nursery! We are avid NASCAR fans and we make an annual pilgrimage to Daytona each February for the 500! Real estate is a service-oriented business. I work for my clients. I try to treat them the way I would want someone to treat me. This Bible verse is my motto: In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were doing it for the Lord, not for people. Colossians 3:23 (NCV)Looking forward to meeting you and finding out about you!

Barbara Pfau of CENTURY 21 Providence Realty knows how to get a deal done! Barbara has been a broker in North Carolina and South Carolina since 1993 and is a 5 time Century 21 CENTURIAN Agent, Accredited Buyer Representative, and a GRI Graduate of Realtor Institute. With 17 years of experience, Barbara has worked with just about all age groups and financial situations. Both Barbara and her husband owned their company for 8 years and handled a variety of day to day situations that arose. According to Barbara, "Real Estate is a diverse occupation always changing and challenging. It satisfies my desire to work with people, view all types of properties, and help create a better living situation for buyers and sellers." She enjoys being a real estate agent for the satisfaction of a job well done and helping people make their housing dreams become a reality. Although she has worked with many types of properties, Barbara currently works with many REO listings.
For first-time homebuyers, Barbara suggests that they get preapproval for a loan and spend less than that approval. "Remember that there will be unexpected bills and new desires that might take more money than allowed." Barbara also suggests that both buyers and sellers need to be realistic in their values and needs. She tells us that buyers need to understand what is necessary and what is desired and to keep their desires realistic. For sellers, she says that the sale of a home should not have to pay for their car, boat, or credit cards; many times if sellers can sell their home and break even, they're doing well. According to Barbara, "Home prices are still dropping in our market. Buyers can get a great deal if they shop wisely. Sellers need to remember that even if they sell low, if they are moving up, the next house they purchase will also be a great deal!" Barbara Pfau is set apart from her competition because she listens carefully and helps her clients make decisions that are in their best interest. Barbara attributes her great ability to listen to being a grandmother.
Barbara and her husband transferred to North Carolina from Ohio 31 years ago and couldn't be happier. The couple has lived specifically in Union County for the past 21 years and enjoys the warmth, lovely surroundings, and the full four seasons.
