"There are a few very good teachers. Unfortunately, many teachers are kept for reasons other than their teaching ability. The administration does not put the ability of the teachers before the politics of the administration."

"This is NOT a college preparatory school. There are no AP classes, no student ranks, no allowing movement to a higher level, just to name a few characteristics missing from the college prep experience. Electives are few and far between and if the one you chose becomes unavailable - too bad! You picked the wrong one and can't switch to one that is offered! Very rigid approach to everything, not a lot of common sense used."

"The social experience is pretty good at NDA. Freshmen year, the big sister-little sister program provides freshmen with a buddy to help them throughout their first month. It also helps the seniors to keep their stress down by having someone else to talk to. The girls are all usually nice. Surprisingly there isn't a lot of drama and it is easier to stay focused with all girls. It also helps everyone to open up and gain confidence about their intelligence which makes the school unique."

"The science, language, and history departments are very strong. The teachers are very involved and strive to make sure the students thrive in the classroom. They are very knowledgeable. The math department, however, can be lacking especially for advanced students which is frustrating."

"The Math Department is terrible. The Chair does not teach and most students are unprepared for college math, even if they achieve an A in the most advanced level math at this school. Several teachers are elderly. The theater teacher is above 75 years old and resorts to threats and intimidation. She yells at students."
