"Everything besides the academics/teachers is bad."

"BB&N has great academics and athletics, but only fairly okay arts. I know that they have a lot more than other schools, but it seems as if they don't value arts (or sometimes even academics) as much as sports. There are numerous "sports recruits" in all grades, who can essentially earn D's and still continue to enroll in this competitive school. The social scene in BB&N is somewhat off putting occasionally, as there are many cliques. Friend groups can change quickly, but I think it's really all about hanging out with who you like, rather than who is more popular. BB&N claims to be very accepting (and I think most students are), but we still have occasional racist or homophobic comments thrown around in certain groups."

"There's a range of teachers, but I've had some really amazing ones. I had Dr. Long for freshman biology and I absolutely loved her. All teachers are available outside the classroom, and so is tutoring, if you need it. The great thing about BB&N teachers is that you know there's always someone there to help you (academically, or with family/friends issues). There are some teachers that are somewhat boring and often drone on and on, but they are still friendly and their work is still academically challenging. By the way, Mr. Hogan is hilarious. If you get him for history, you're very lucky."

"Most teachers seem knowledgeable and care a lot about teaching and their subject, some teachers less so than others. There are a few teachers who make it very clear which kids they like or dislike, and treat them accordingly. Some teachers do not teach well."

"I met some really great people at this school, and many classes I took were engaging and informative. The support system there for kids who have to commute from far away is terrible, though, and makes it hard to participate in extracurriculars because of that lack of flexibility. There's also an assumption that everyone can pay for anything regardless of if they can."
