"Duxbury High School has its ups and downs. Most of the students that go here are copycats and are not unique."

"Overall, the teachers at Duxbury High School are approachable and friendly and know what they are doing. Their lessons can be a bit dry and disengaging."

"I have had a very good academic experience, i think this high school offers one of the best educations however the administration does not do a great job making students feel welcome as well as hearing students opinions."

"Duxbury High School is an extremely average experience. Ever since the switch to the new school, which resembles an office building, I have found that culture has dissipated and people show up to get school done as soon as possible. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it makes for a pretty bland experience and if you don't have anything too exciting going on outside of school, then life can get pretty boring at times. It feels like artistic expression and creativity are looked down upon and conformity is king. Even the music department is devoid of any artistic freedom, basically you are just handed a sheet and told to play it a specific way. It's more about the proficiency of playing a specific instrument than actually appreciating or composing music itself, which I personally think is way more involving and enriching. One of the only areas of the school that I see a lot of culture coming from is the drama department. Although I've never personally gotten involved, the productions offer a ton of student artistic freedom and I appreciate their creativity and hard work immensely. Basically, every single thing that I do as a member of this school is just a resume-bulker. Sometimes, it's hard to understand why I even do anything at this school when a having a strong college application is the only motivation. I'm not bummed to be attending, but am certainly excited to leave."
