"I loved how Newton North has so many opportunities for students. We have an amazing theatre department, but we also have amazing sports, clubs, music, editorials. The elective classes that are offered are also very advantageous to students; for example, the graphic communications and engineering courses really helped me to decide what I want to study in college and I know these aren't offered at a lot of schools. I do wish they offered a few more AP courses such as computer programming."

"Newton North High School was a wonderful school. Much to offer to a wide variety of student body. There is a mix of activities and sports - many of which are well known for their accomplishments and successes. If I could change anything about this school it would be for administrators, teachers, coaches, counselors, and parents to come together and commit to minimize stress for students. High academics, competitive sports, and the like result in a student body filled with stress, anxiety, depression and fears. This is perhaps a societal problem, as well but change can and should start here."

"Lately, there has been a lot of bad press surrounding NNHS and hate crimes. When I attended (Class of 2014) I never felt the effects of any of these incidents. The student body could be shifting, but I believe NNHS is an excellent school with a welcoming and accepting community. Despite the attention a few bad eggs have been getting, the administration remains on top of these issues and addresses them appropriately."

"Course load is a little overbearing, but there are great opportunities in this school not many other schools have, such as: career tech ed classes, work studies, CAPSTONE senior spring semester internships, and so many unique and fun classes. This school does an awesome job in helping you pick what you want to do after high school and helps you in the process of doing so as well."

"North has been my home since my sophomore year. There are so many opportunities for everyone, and the school offers many special programs to suppport the minority groups (T2, ELL, METCO, EDCO, etc). There are some many courses offered in various fields, and you can truly be a student here exploring your passion and interests. The teachers are mostly great human beings who not only teach you stuff but life lessons as well. AP courses are not much emphasized, though. Sports events are very welcoming and exciting; however, some boys sport teams are exclusive and racist. The facilities are top-notch. The school spirit is pretty much "work hard, play hard"; there are some peer pressures sometimes, but in most time this is positive. If you can survive in North, you are ready for any challenges beyond. I will continue to call North as my home forever."
