"Academics were hit and miss. It all cam down to the teachers and some teachers were fantastic and others were pathetic. Science, language and history teachers were very good and teaching and helping you learn even if you were having trouble. The school did not provide decent math or foreign language teachers. Every teacher had an attitude that their class was the only one you were taking, and none of them were on the same page as far as what other responsibilities you had throughout the year. However, they high expectations prepared me for the real world."

"This school prepared me very well for college work load. I was very comfortable in college while many other students had a hard time. There is a tight network of community here and everyone knows everyone. However, some of the teachers are not qualified to teach their subject. There is an emphasis on hard work and academic pride here."

"This school is academically rigorous, with many extra projects. For example, each year the school puts on a full Humanities Faire, open to the public, and proceeds go to community groups, funding for trips, and more. Teachers are on hand early EVERY day to help if students need help, teachers participate in all aspects of school life, and attend all of the games and athletics. In addition, many community service opportunities, OUTSTANDING phys. ed. and much more. This school has no bullying and high standards, yet what they offer in return is immeasurable."

"The academics at this school are very vigorous, and quality work is expected of every student. The school day is divided between classical core curriculum and project-based learning, which allows students a variety of experiences that would not be possible anywhere else. Many of the projects, such as drama, stained glass/pottery, timberframe, and pond ecology, are student-led, which creates a strong atmosphere of personal responsibility for academics."

"Cream of the crop! This is an academically rigorous program, and the teachers are all up to the task. They are well-versed in their subject areas, and can easily pinch hit in others, if needed. They direct many projects, in addition to classroom work. (For example our annual Humanities Faire. The teachers participate as well.) If studying the Ancient World, kids are assigned historical characters, and everything, down to the costumes, must be periodically correct. The amount of memorization is extensive, and the kids do a great job. All of the money earned from this public event is put toward the mission trips they take each year. Teachers are available 30 min. early each day for help, and they work shoulder to shoulder with families to ensure the children's success."
