"Being a student for six years at Northwestern Regional 7 has taught me tremendously. What makes my school stand out to any other school is how much of a family we are. Teachers, principals, house masters, and students alike share relationships that offer so much for the student academically as well as socially. One of my favorite experiences was at a time in my life where I was very stressed. It was college application season and this occasion as well as a coincidence of loads and loads of homework left me becoming hopeless and ungrateful. It was during my study hall period that I stopped by my Superintendent's office. Luckily she was not in a meeting and without even hesitating, welcomed me with a grand smile and compassionate hug. I initially I spoke with her about my community service grant I won through the Kindness and Motion Grant she initiated. However, one discussion led to another before college became the topic of discussion. The accumulated stress and sleepless nights overflowed and I just talked with my superintendent about how overwhelmed I was. Immediately she offered my tea and cookies and we simply talked. We talked about how anxious the college process is. Then, she shared a personal story of her son's experience. Listening to her speak and be so calm made me suddenly become so appreciative. I would not change the place or people of my school if I could do it all over again because of how truly one-of-a-kind the faculty is. My Superintendent reassured me everything happens for a reason but after finishing my tea and cookie, I became grateful and fortunate. I thought, "How lucky am I to have a Superintendent right in my school to simply talk with... not to mention how much of a living angel she is." Not only she is a busy woman with an exacerbating list of tasks, but she has taken the time to talk and help a student through a difficult time in her life. I would not trade anything for the altruistic, sympathetic, and loving people at my school."

"I am very fortunate. My time at my school has been filled with joy, laughter, frustration, determination, and most of all love. Let me give you a glimpse of the impact one of my teachers has had on me. For privacy reasons, let's called her Mrs. Smith. Mrs. Smith is my sophomore and senior year English teacher. She is very involved in the school community. In my sophomore year, she recruited me for both of the clubs she is the adviser in. After joining Poetry Out Loud, I was honestly amazed how she helped me transform into a young fifteen year old who was afraid to publicly speak, to a brave and proud seventeen year old who is comfortable on center stage. In addition to being engaged in the school community, she additionally engages the classroom in collaborative learning. Instead of lecturing an English class at the front of the classroom while the students menially record her words, she instead hold circle discussions. These discussions not only provide a more interactive approach to learning, but additionally allow for students to discuss and analyze as a group. Moreover, Mrs. Smith's genuine character inside and outside of the classroom is further illustrated as she goes above and beyond to helping and assisting her students individually. I am taking an AP English class this year and because of unfortunate scheduling conflicts, I was unable to take Writer's Workshop which includes sculpting and ultimately finalizing college essays. Because of this dilemma, I had no choice but to independently write my college essays. I had told Mrs. Smith I was doing this one day and she without hesitation, graciously offered to help me edit the countless essays. Through innumerable study hall periods and after school sessions, my essays were completed. Mrs. Smith exhibits such selflessness through this process. All in all, the impact Mrs. Smith has had on me, her community, and in the school, truly mirrors the integrity and benevolence the teachers at my school evince everyday."

"The overall experience that I had was very nice. They had a variety of clubs that everyone could be interested in. They even had an agricultural program which some of my friends had positive experiences."

"Most of the teachers at the school are very knowledgeable, friendly, and want to help the students. Some of the teachers at the school do not understand that all of the students learn differently and it makes learning difficult when they teach only one way."
