"There are a handful of teachers in the school, who simply rely on thick packets and book work rather than just teaching the class, as many students learn differently, and I've witnessed students panic when a packet was put in front of them, and they would not know what to do. On the other hand, their are many teachers who do, actually teach their class, and do it in ways that everyone can understand."

"For me and many students, Academy wasn't just a school, it was a home. It had to be - it's not easy to go to this school. Most students wake up around 4-5am, have at least an hour bus ride, then a nine hour school day. It's for the faint of heart. Why do it then? Because here you can get an environment like no where else. You are constantly surrounded by all types of art. Dancers are inspired by writers who are inspired by visual artists, and so on. You are given three hours a day to your art form, which to an artist is heaven. You are with a peer group who understands you on a different level than most. You are treated with respect by your teachers (most of the time) and viewed not just as a student, but as an artist. Academy is not without it's problems. I could fill books with the problems with this school. But it gave me an environment where I could feel at home, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat."

"The school has a fair amount of parental involvement. Most parents are highly supportive of their children and work towards seeing them succeed."
