"Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts is a very opened minded school with good academic classes and art classes. But they do not provide sports or extra curriculum classes. This school is more recommended for students with a passion of the art form than regular academic courses. Although the school did made me learn on how to control a busy schedule but it's hard to focus because you have to control your grades for art and academic classes."

"Considering this is a specialty high school, it makes sense that this school found a way to OVER prepare for college. I ended up attending Hampshire College, a very prestigious Liberal Arts College - and found none of the courses to be anywhere close to the levels of those at GHAA. I found that those who I graduated with, about 85% of them felt the same way about their college, and of that percentage about 60% of them left college for this reason. GHAA is amazing, but will really spoil you and put your education in a skewed perspective."

"I like the people you meet and the support! i like the you can do it attitude! This school has really help me to feel proud of who i am, teachers have expectations for the students that pushes them to do better. The guidance counselors really help with transcript problems, choosing classes and helping you look for a job. I think this school is also a great place because it is a safe place where you can express yourself without the fear of being judged.I have done so much better in this school than any other one i"ve been too"

"It's fun for the first two years but once you get into it, it feels old and mundane. However, there's always a chance to refresh yourself in your artistic skills as long as you're willing to move into a new space and do a little extra work. Most of the real movingly forward involves you doing most of the work with minimal help."

"Academy is such a welcoming community with a lot of love to share for any gender/race/ etc. Each art department has their own way of sticking together. From my perspective, the class of 2017 dance majors have grown to love and support each other. We encourage our peers and help them step out of their comfort zone. The only reason I wouldn't give my school five stars is because our academic classes could have some better teachers and more class leveling. However, our academic program is fairly new in comparison to the arts program. I believe that over time our academics will be stronger and we will have strong students ready to take on anything they decide to do with their future."
