"The student body is made up of mostly hyper-privileged white conservatives, a solid portion of which think it's acceptable to simultaneously degrade POC and adopt an act of being "urban" or "gangsta". While attending Coginchaug I never felt pressured to try drugs or smoke but I know a lot of kids that do. Acceptance is practically non-existant. It wasn't uncommon for me to hear kids say racial, islamophobic, and homophobic slurs in the same breath."

"Coginchaug is a very small school, everyone is very friendly with one another. The teachers are great, they will happily help students achieve their goals. I wouldn't have wanted my child to go to any other school."

"I wish I'd never gone to Coginchaug. I can't believe I actually wanted to go there. I was bullied by strangers and my own friends, saw the incline of rampant sexual abuse, and the eternal shaving down of the budget for the arts to build the athletics department. Did you know that while they did the most recent cut to the arts department, the Athletics director has a personal secretary? The arts teachers do their best but I can tell it's frustrating for them to not only have a severely cut budget, but to have to deal with snotty kids who think they rule the world because they're athletic. I can count off at least 4 kids that did not get punished for literally raping their fellow students. That should disturb you. That should make you scared. That should be enough at the bare minimum to make you want reform. There is no reform. Coginshaug sits stagnant as the world progresses around it."

"Some of the teachers were supportive and informative and took the time to address the individual needs of the student. One of my teachers yelled at me for being gay. It's really a mixed bag."

"I didn't get a wide variety of teachers to assess as I only went for a year."
