"Ryerson is a wonderful school, and all of my older siblings have gone there. There is TEEN REALM for disabled students, and they go through 6-8 grade. There are many after school activities, such as basketball, student council, newspaper, homework club, ect. The gym classes are wonderful, they provide some very entertaining classes, such as Rock Climbing. There are two gym teachers, both considerate and caring. The teachers so far have never failed me, and I enjoy going to school there. Even though 98% of the kids that attend there came from Hewitt, the intermediate school, they aree treated with dignity and respect the moment they walk through the doors. The safety is excellent, camera's, and when you want access to the building you are buzzed in. Art class is great, you can make may fun projects. They are strict, though. Ryerson is a great school, overall."

"As a current student, my feelings for Ryerson are extremely mixed. The teachers are good, but that is most of them. Some of them are getting older and truly do not teach a thing in the class. Some teachers, though, are outstanding and really do teach things well. Ryerson holds some of the best teachers in the area, but not all of them are willing to improve. The school itself is very old and not intact, especially the classrooms. All in all, Ryerson is a great school."

"My daughter has gone to this school for two years...and for two years a bright student who used to do very well is now failing. I was not notified that she was not completing her work until well after the situation was out of control. After making an appointment to see one of her teachers in whose class she was failing the teaher called out sick. I was never called to tell me this and a new appointment was never made as I was promised it would be. I never heard from them to follow up. Seems like the teachers perform their duties as is needed and go home without any extra effort. If the child does well fine and if not fine too even though teachers all got an enormous raise. Homework is given in abundance to the point of being ridiculous. Sadly I am unhappy with this school."

"All schools in the district have locked doors with cameras so you are 'buzzed' in. Any one inside can safely get out. Safety & security are paramount. Teachers are excellent. Schools are stable, however, budgetary concerns with very little rateables (high taxes) keeps the district from becoming a top quality school district in the state. This is typical of most suburban school districts in New Jersey. Most of the State monies are ear-marked for the 30 Special Needs Districts (cities). Hence the property owners bear the brunt of the school taxes. There is very little industry in Ringwood, so home owners bear most of the taxes to pay for the schools. Teachers are very involved with students, one-on-one, or after school or during lunch time. They are extremely creative with the limited budget in the district. Much of the school budget monies is ear-marked for Special Education needs students, as the case for all districts. And the teachers have stayed in the district without too much turn over proving that the district is GOOD!"
