"There are AP classes and testing available for students who qualify. Those classes were actually very challenging and similar to college courses I take now. The workload honestly was not that heavy for the normal classes. It was definitely manageable. The teachers were great, there were a few who were pretty bad. But for the most part, I loved 95% of my teachers and advisors. Scheduling worked well and choosing classes was easy. Popular classes included Foods, Art, Italian, and Leadership."

"There were many cliques at Lenape. There was definitely a popular crowd. Just like there is at every high school. There was a lot of racial diversity. I recall people at other high schools in our district calling Lenape the "ghetto school". Most kids were involved in many things, those who were not were usually either very serious about studying or the trouble makers. There truly was every single type of person you could imagine in our class of 500 kids. I don't think there was too much peer pressure at all. As for sexual orientation, I think a few kids may have had problems. But if they were comfortable with themselves, everyone else was comfortable with them too."

"There are many teachers that I still look back on and miss. Those teachers were very involved, genuinely cared, gave good lessons, graded fairly, and were involved. Other teachers (there were a few) seemed pretty unqualified. They didn't seem to really care about the students, their teaching methods were confusing and they didn't grade fairly."

"What makes Lenape unique is the comradery between the students. The administration and older students always give the impression of "the Lenape family". You always feel like you belong. I had the choice to go to a private school and I chose Lenape because of the diversity and size. Instead of being in a small sheltered private school, I was able to experience many different things. I see now as a college student, how much I learned about life in high school. I was surrounded by kids that came from very different family and economic status's. I feel that it is important to be exposed to these things as a teenager. Lenape also had a very strict disciplinary code. Most kids behaved because of that. There were many fun events like dances and sporting events and "pride day". These things kept students involved in extracirriculars. Some of my favorite experiences were while I was on class office. Every single year each grade would decorate their hallways and compete in homecoming week. It unified your class but also the entire school."

"I would do it all over again because it helped me grow. Since the teachers didn't baby me, I was able to push and motivate myself to work harder as the years went on, but if I started to really fall behind, the teachers would step in and help get me back on track."
