"The best part of going to my high school was the mentors, the teachers that cared about you, not because you are an athlete or honor roll students , but because you are not. Who appreciated you as a student/person who loves art, wood shop and computers. They guided you because they knew you would succeed in high school because of your character and maturity.. Going to a small school, enabled teacher to get to know you and lend a hand or just be a sounding board."

"I was fortunate to have many great teachers, although there were a few that were set in their ways, not open to the way students of the 21 st century think and learn. A small town school is more personable, you have a relationship with the teachers, many live in the town or grew up here, so they are supportive of improving the school's academic program. The teaching style varies based on the age of the teacher and subject being taught. Each teachers has thier own rubric for grading, teacher are approachable when it comes to asking about a grade."

"Early in my senior year, I was accepted at my first choice of colleges, which I am currently attending. Was I prepared for the real world... no I was not! After growing up in a small town, graduating with 84 students, you have known since kindergarten, some since preschool, I was not prepared socially or academically as students from larger districts. It was emotion struggle the first semester, making friends with the same values and upbringing. Academically I struggled with writing papers and study skills. I heard from many students in my graduation class I was not alone, they too were struggling."
