"Some teachers are dedicated to the job that they do and some just don't care at all."

"The teachers at this school are individuals who truly want students to not only learn material, but be able to apply what is learned in the classroom in the real world. Teachers at my school are constantly giving sound advice to students about life and college, never sugarcoating anything, but always stating things in an optimistic tone. The teachers try to build a real relationship with students, believing that doing so will allow for a more interactive teaching experience."

"The faculty and staff do not help the kids at the early college program and have favoritism"

"This school provides the amazing opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. Even if you end up graduating and attending a college that does not accept these credits for any reason, taking college courses while in high school is an extremely helpful experience to have. Here you learn to manage your time and college course work in general. This school does an outstanding job at preparing its students, most of whom are low-income, inner-city kids, for higher education so that their transition from high school to college is far less intimidating. CCAA is quite a small school compared to other New York City high schools, which is a pro in the sense that students get to meet their educators much better. The teachers and educators, some more than others, want every student to succeed, and this is evident through the way they immerse themselves in the subjects they teach. Overall, the experience I had at City College Academy of the Arts was unique and shaped me into the intellectual college student I am today; for this reason, if I had the opportunity to start high school all over again, I'd choose CCAA yet again."
