"One of the main reasons I chose this school was due to its celebration and dedication to diversity. Every year we have an event called 'BC Talks' where we discuss the eight social identifiers (race, class, sex, etc) in small workshops and even as a whole school. Through this day, our school allows us to have a safe space to discuss issues that effect us all in some way, for example, police brutality in neighborhoods of color. And for the people it doesn't effect, it makes them aware. Not only do we have BC Talks, but my school also brings in speakers from various backgrounds to educate us on issues abroad and at home. The diversity at my school makes my curriculum and high school experience unique."

"We are a two dad family and couldn't be more happy with this school. Particularly impressed with the level of diversity in the lower school, the application of knowledge as well as how everything builds on each other grade to grade seamlessly. One NYC magazine recently called BC, the Harvard of Brooklyn. We couldn't agree more. Innovation, free critical/global thinking, openness and academic rigor. Our daughter loves this school and looks forward to going every Sunday evening for the past three years."

"The teachers at this school are extremely open to what students have to say and contribute to the class environment. Most of our classrooms are taught in circles or at a Harkness table, encouraging class discussion. The only time when teachers aren't as open is with changing grades if you believe you should've earned something higher. There are special rubrics and most teachers have been teaching for a while so they believe their grading is accurate. As for knowledge, every teacher knows what they are talking about. And even if they aren't, they're open to students correcting them. The classroom is shaped by discussion from students and teachers working together."

"I loved my courses at BCS because I genuinely learned so much from my teachers. They cared so much about their students. I always felt like my teachers would support me no matter what. I graduated with greaer writing and coprehensive skills than many of my fellow students in college."
