"The work can be hard at times but only to student who don't pay attention in class or learn at different paces than everyone else. If the teacher sees that, they will work with you to get to the pace you need as well as put you on academic probation where you come to school earlier to get you up to speed to the level your supposed to be on. Now with common core in classes, it is tough but since we use those standards everyday, it gets easier as you go along. ps- i memorized most of the standards thank to Mrs. Quinn:)"

"With the new administration at my school, Ms. Newman along with many more, I can wholeheartedly say that the teachers are more engaged in teaching us the best way possible. Everyday after class, you can find almost all of the teachers in their rooms putting in extra hours to help students or even planning for the next day. Every teacher also has their daily schedule posted on their doors so we can even get extra help throughout the day. I've been in Brooklyn Collegiate for 4 years, this is my last year and i can say truthfully that this year i have never been more engaged in my studies. The old principal didn't really give the teachers the proper tools to help them teach the class or even interest the students but now, you can find smart-boards and laptops carts in every class room. One of the freshman algebra teacher has a smart-board that looks like a 65-inch mac computer lol. They have the utmost respect for students, use my art teacher as an example, he takes feedback from us every day as part of the lesson and he even asks us what should he say to our peers if they happen to not be following the rules, doesn't get better than that. And as for grading wise, we use pupil path which is updated DAILY and the parent and the student are able to have an account so parents can check their grades in classes, as well as assignments, behavioral issues, attendance and even their transcript regents scores and requirements to graduate. Lastly, i want to talk about my favorite teacher in the entire school, Mr. Houck. I've had him as a teacher for grade 11 for AP Calculus and now in grade 12 for AP Calculus prep. I don't think there is anyone who is more passionate about teaching than he is, he gives up his lunch period which is also the same as ours to make sure we understand the topic. he will not leave the room until you can reiterate what he taught you back to him. The experience here will take you far, look at me, I've received full rides into 11 colleges so far :)."

"My overall experience was great not the best only because there was a change in administration.the old administration was the worst, the principal wanted her way with every thing and set us up for failure by not offering certain classes and only giving us that 44 credit diploma, the new principal want you to go above and beyond. I've had 3 years of the old administration and 1 year of the new. Ms.Newman, the new principal, is making AP classes available to ALL students starting September 2016, even freshman. the freshman starting from 2015 enrolled and up will graduate with 60 credits and associate degrees by taking college classes at Medgar Evers and Brooklyn College. Ms. Newman has made the students as well as the teacher love coming through the doors every day and I wish they could've fired Ms. Sias sooner."

"My favorite experiences in this school was the basketball games, and the dances we had. The basketball games bring all the children together to celebrate one thing. what makes this school unique is that all the students i the school really look out for each other and support their peers."

"All my teachers are very experienced in the subjects they teach. Because of this, the students are able to get good information pertaining the topics we do. They communicate with give us one help and sometimes even give us chances to make up work that we missed. They give work that we can understand and they teach us with methods that we are able to understand"
