"The most popular classes are the electives. A lot of students like Humanities because of the teacher and foods classes because of, well, the food. There are a select favorite teachers from every subject, but unless you are eligible to take their classes, you can't just say "I want to have Mr. Stauffer this year" and have him for class. Scheduling is pretty easy. You have your required classes and those lined up for you because you have the prerequisites, but every year you have more free credits for electives that you want to take."

"Hempfield is definitely a unique place. There is a variety of students - athletic, artsy, intelligent and everything in between. The education is average and students are encourages to take electives helping them decide on their college major. I'd go to Hempfield again because its comfortable and I don't know anything else. Yes, some policies and rules are a bit strict, but they're there for a reason. Most teachers enforce them to the best of their ability."

"There are a variety of types of teachers and the way they teach. A lot of the Social Studies teachers are the most approachable and engage with students the most. You have your normal teachers who teach enough and to the book and there are some that really care that students understand the information and get good grades."

"If you are a new student, most people are accepting and encourage others to get to know them. As for diversity, there isn't much, but there is little or no discrimination against those in a minority. Like every school, there is some form of bullying occurring but there are programs to help those in need and bully prevention programs. Just in the past few years, a GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) club was started and i think that has had a great impact on our school."

"We have little diversity in races here, so often times students will be bullied. We have a strong GSA involvement at our school. Students are extremely judgmental for even the smallest things."
