"The academics at Big Spring are not very rigorous, however, many students participate in AP classes and College courses. Honors courses are pretty easy and it is hard not to get A's in classes. The workload is very manageable with the average amount of homework a night taking about half an hour. Getting help from teachers is very easy, students are able to schedule with teachers over a lunch period to get the help they need."

"My favorite experiences have been some of the activities led by school organizations. Every other year, a mini-Thon takes place. Students are able to raise money, donate their hair, dance, participate in sports tournaments and many other things all for kids with childhood cancer. Also, powderpuff is a flag football game between the junior and senior classes. The girls play football and the boys are cheerleaders. These activities really help to bring the small school together and have everyone have a good time. I would choose this school again if I could do it over again because of the close-knit community at Big Spring. Everyone knows each other and the support is unreal."

"Most students in Big Spring are very similar. They are white and live in a very rural area. Less than 5% of the school is of a diverse background. I think that 5% may not feel as accepted as the majority. I believe that most of the students at Big Spring are very accepting. Many students are involved in something whether it be athletics, music, or student government."

"The teachers at Big Spring High School are some of the best teachers in the area. They are devoted to teaching and helping the students learn. They also take time aside from teaching to get to know their students interests, strengths and weaknesses. They are willing to help before and after school and even during their lunch breaks. They are phenomenal."

"Everyone at this school is extremely nice and friendly. I can remember coming in as a freshman and being scared. A lot of upperclassman were there to help you whenever you needed it and the staff and students are really welcoming and friendly. This school is unique because it feels like a family and we are all working together. My favorite experience at this school was Mini-Thon. I made so many memories there and had the time of my life. I would choose this school over in a heart beat if I could all over again because I feel that this school is very safe. We all know each other and we are a family. Drugs and alcohol aren't really an issue at this school and that is important to me. I also like not having large graduating classes."
