"Honestly, it's not a bad school. The area makes it bad. The poverty in our town is terrible. You can tell in school. Those who are poor usually don't care about their grades or performance in school. It's very sad. But the school itself is great. It's clean and not dirty like people say."

"I have had great teachers all 4 years, but I'm very aware of the teachers that aren't so great. There are only a few great ones, most are below average."

"I personally have had a pretty good high school experience. I was a football player and even though the outcome of our team wasn't the best, I always had good seasons. Our area is big on football so many teachers would have conversation with me over football. The only reason I would choose another high school if there was opportunity to do so would be to play on a winning football team. Other than that, I like our school, we have a nice set up and I'm proud to be an Indian!!"

"There are a few teachers that I have had who made class very interesting. They would use outside real life issues to explain things which would keep me interested in class. I also had a handful of teachers who I felt could of put more effort in teaching, maybe by communicating more with the students to see if there was any confusion and try ways to change that."

"All of the teachers that I have encountered over the last two years of high school have really been enlightening to my experience at Shamokin Area High School. My teachers have always shown interest and have kept my attention and really created a good legacy and impression upon me as a thriving student. The encouragement and interest that these teacher have shown is really unforgettable and is very enjoyable to reflect upon me and my other siblings that attend this school. To complementing me on grades, to showing up to sporting events and cheering me on, to being my audience at various orchestra events, to personal letters and help in various homework assignments."
