"Ridley is a great school, but there are definitely things that could use improvement. First, this year we just started a 4.0 grade scale, which wouldn't be bad as they use it in college, but the majority of teachers disagree with it, and we did not find out about the new grading policy until the very beginning of the year. It is unfair to students who struggle. For example, if a student was bad at math but tried their best on a test and still got a 59%, they automatically get a 0 so of course that will give them no motivation to try. Second, they need to do something about dresscode. They keep changing it every year so i have to keep going out to buy something different. Also, they don't enforce it for every student, which is unfair to those who get in trouble and lose valuable learning time to change. I will say that they have a wide variety of clubs from foreign languages, to art, to clubs that focus on current issues. Besides the previously stated issues, I like that each class seems to have more and more school spirit each year. Also, they have added many activities and events for the students."

"The school can be very cliquey sometimes. For example, theres always the huge "Preppy" group who give you a nasty look if you even breathe in their direction, so they kind of suck. Theres the Emerald Academy kids which are typically the more nerdy kids (this is coming from an Emac kid). There are the goth/emo/whatever else there is group who typically converge in the middle of the hallways and blast their music. Basically, unless you have a very specific personality similar to the clique it may be a bit harder to fit in."

"There's many different classes in every subject. There's too many art classes to name. Also, for the more general classes, such as english and core math, it ranges from ccp to honors and AP in some cases, so there's always a perfect fit for each student."

"My freshmen and sophomore years i was in the Emerald Academy and although we were like a close little family, the academics and workload could be a bit much. The point of EMAC was so we could be challenged, but the teachers were supposed to meet and discuss the assignments so the workload would still be manageable. At one point, i had 4 major assignments due in one day and it was so overwhelming I broke down in tears in the middle of the hallway. I had to miss school just to get it all done. After i finished 10th grade, i took 2 AP classes my junior year, and it was a piece of cake compared to 9th and 10th grade. The workload was definitely manageable and i feel as if i learned a lot, especially in biology although the exam barely had anything to do with the course. Now, as a senior, I couldn't be happier. I am a duel enrollment student and even with multiple college essays a week, it is still more manageable than my 10th grade classes. I enjoy all my classes, mostly art. I even have time to work an 8 hour shift after school. If i could do it over, I would, but i would not have done the emerald academy again."

"As far as the experience at the high school for the past four years, other than ninth grade which was slightly awkward for me because I did not know anyone as well as I did sophomore year and so on, I would say that the experience with learning and talking with the teachers in order to complete the work successfully was adequate."
