"Switching from a much different school to Newark Charter, I noticed a big difference. Newark Charter strongly discourages bullying and enforces their rules. It's a very equal setting with uniforms, and has high standards in terms of decorum."

"I'm a sophomore at NCS (Niche says it's K-9 but I'd like to clarify that we go up to 12th grade now) and I've been going here since 1st grade. NCS has an excellence sense of decorum ('decorum' is even in our Alma Mater) and I'd consider it much safer than some other schools. We have a good range of activities, including an annual school musical, band, a variety of sports (however, no football, except flag football), honors clubs, math league, and even a Star Trek club; however, more emphasis is put on the sports like in most schools. In general, we have good teachers and academics; however, our homework load is immense. Many students stay up until 1 AM or later finishing work, especially if they take AP classes. In addition, a lot of pressure is put on students to take AP classes. We have a good amount of school spirit, but sometimes this is lacking (however, this varies per person and grade). We're definitely pretty ready for college here with all of our AP courses. Thank you!"

"Great school to be at! Wonderful academics and staff! We are given a variety of classes, the teachers are very good at helping you learn the material. Newark Charter is very set on preparing us for college, I believe that overall through my high school experience I have been well prepared and I am ready for the challenges I will face."

"I came into NCS in 4th grade. I came from a school that didn't challenge me at all to a school that was on my level and was constantly pushing me to my limit. I was in the top class, I had the best teachers, and I am now in 8th grade. I am currently taking a 10th-grade math course, a 9th grade ELA, and 9th-grade science and social studies as well. I think that if you or your child wants to save money in college as well as learn a lot more, then you should definitley consider Newark Charter School."

"As a part of the first graduating class, we have the opportunity and the job of starting traditions and creating a path for following graduating classes. While it is exciting to be a part of the inaugural student body, we can't start everything at once so some things we may miss out on as we grow our programs. With respect to athletics, I have been able to play Varsity Baseball my sophomore and junior years and I intend to play again in my senior year. This is something I may not have had the opportunity to do at another high school."
