"If everyone who attended this school had the intended principles in mind, this would be the ideal school. Not everyone grasps Quaker principles as intended."

"Very readily available and interested in helping students succeed. Very easy to have a close relationship with teachers outside of class."

"The teachers here are generally teaching here because they enjoy teaching. They like to talk to the students outside of class and will usually help any student that needs and asks for it. They make sure that they give you enough room so that you can become independent, but if any support is needed, they're down for that too. Grading's pretty fair. You get the grade you deserve almost all of the time. Every class I've been in has been focused on getting the students to interact with each other and the teacher as well. Questioning things is heavily encouraged here, which I personally am really into."

"Lower school was a very good experience. I wasn't crazy about the Principal or VP. I thought they were not empathetic. But, I loved the teachers and the resource areas. Middle school is a disaster. Some teachers have used the same projects for 2 decades and, when asked if the time is well spent (hours and hours of homework for general music with no feedback), the VP of middle school's reply is, 'that is the way it has always been.' Most teachers have checked out by early May, and some have gigantic temper tantrums. Some really enjoy ostracizing students. It is hit or miss. I hope the new principal of MS is more effective than the one that is leaving next week."

"I've been at this school since I was four years old. My mom went here when she was a little kid up to when she graduated and decided to move back to Baltimore to send her child (me) here she loved it so much. I genuinely think that going to this school made me a better person that is able to hear different sides of arguments and think for myself. The other schools around here might be good academically, but I have never found another school that can offer academics and encouragement to become the best person you can possibly be quite like Friends. Some kids don't get what Friends is all about and bad talk it, but you get what you put in. If you come in here looking to get all you can out of it, you'll walk out with a lot."
