"What I like about Woodside is its diversity. There are people of different cultures, backgrounds, sexualities, and ethnicities that all come together to form an amazing high school. What I would change about Woodside High School is its arts department. Woodside's arts department is poorly underfunded. Instead, a copious amount of money gets put into its athletics department. Woodside is a magnet school, so it's ironic to see its arts department not get the attention that it needs."

"Woodside has a lot of school spirit. We usually have two spirit weeks a school year and I would say that most of the school dresses up and participates. Our sports are pretty good and the football and basketball games are packed. Our magnet programs are also good. I feel like the teachers build a good relationship with their students and try their best to make them better in whatever magnet they're in. They give you a lot to think about and do in and outside of school. The academics is good and I would say that Woodside and Menchville are tied for the best in Newport News. I have been provided with at least two ap classes to choose from every year. Some are easier then others mostly because of the teachers ,but for the most part if you do your work you'll do good in the class. Compared to other schools in Newport News Woodside always does better. I would also say they're better than the schools in Hampton. We also have Chick-fil-a for sale on Fridays after 1st period which is a plus."

"There is no other school to compare. Woodside is never dull at any moment given as the students are always up to something to involve everyone."

"I liked the staff and the magnets most about woodside. The magnet favoritism when it comes to funding should change. The dress code is ridiculous. Other than that its a good school."
