"I'm currently a junior at Floyd county high school. There is a severe bullying problem that administrators do not take care of properly."

"FCHS is a hip little school in a small town with an even mix of hippies and hicks. A neat thing about this school is the fact the old-timers are willing to befriend and mingle with the hippies/ alternative kids. As far as I am aware, there is little to no bullying. Practically everyone knows everyone in this school. As far as academics, this is high school has great programs for future nurses, mechanics, and farmers. Because of the town of Floyd's well-known art scene, the high school's art classes are MAGNIFICENT. I am currently only in foundation art, but the art skills we learn are valuable and result in masterpieces by young students. Some of our students even have art in local galleries!"

"Floyd County High School is a good small town school, but does not do a good job encouraging it's students to expand outside of the area. Classes are geared more towards those who don't care about school than the ones really trying to make a difference in the world. The food is good for cafeteria food and most of the employees are kind. The athletics is very impressive with a lot of young talent and a lot of parent involvement. There are some major renovations that's could be made but it is not unsafe. There is little diversity in the school and in the area, but the school system welcomes other ethnicities with open arms. The High School has worked very well with the foreign exchange program and brought many students into the system. The school does not excel in college preparedness nor does it offer an abundance of college level courses. Most of the issues with the school relate back to the budget and issues with the local government."

"The almost five years I have spent here has been overall a great experience. It is a small high school, letting know all the teachers, staff, and pretty much every student in your grade and the one below it. True, the school is older and in some places showing its age and the budget is kind of tight. But it is a nice little high school that I will kind of miss."
