"While attending George Wythe, I have made many friends. Being in a small town in rural Virginia, we don't have a lot of diversity. We also don't have problems with racial tensions. Our sports teams are amazing. We have won state championships in track and golf. Our football team made it to the semi final. Both our girl's and boy's basketball teams went to state. We have many opportunities with our education as well. We have governor's schools, and opportunities to take college classes. I will graduate high school with an Associate's degree. We also have a great technology center. My younger brother will graduate high school with a nursing degree. Because our school is so small, the staff really gets to know us. The teachers know me on a personal level. My football coach is my history teacher and advanced PE teacher. The main cons to this school is the food and it's really old."

"My school is very outdated and needs to be redone and the only sports teams that get any kind of recognition is the Basketball team and the Football team... all the other sports aren't cared for and the funds for them are taken out and given to the basketball and football team... there is a lot of bullying and i wish there was a little more freedom, teenagers need to have guidance not to be controlled, or else they wont learn."

"At George Wythe, I did not feel adequately prepared for college at all. However, i do not blame this on the school itself but more so the state. Southwestern Virginia schools are underfunded, leading to lower than average teachers. I did however enjoy the experience, the aptness of the teachers to help me get involved. The location in Wytheville was fantastic. Perfect for families. I only wish the education standards were set much, much higher. I hope that the Wythe County School Board can begin to shift into a more education centered focus instead of athletics. This will be the greatest progression."

"George Wythe HS is a very old school, so a lot of its facilities are outdated. It is also small (about 300-400 students grades 9-12) so as more students come, it is often crowded in the halls, and some classes. There is no air conditioning, and we start school in the middle of August. We recently got a new principal and he is wonderful. He seems to really care about the students, staff and about making curriculum more rigorous. We have a lot of sports programs, many of which are advancing or have recently advanced to the state level multiple times, but there is sometimes competition for space to practice since the school is small. Not all teachers have a masters in their subject."

"I think that George Wythe could use a lot of improvement in the facilities, teachers, food, resources, and also the diversity here. When you walk up and down the halls, you see normally two races; white-95%, black-4%, and other-1%. It is a very outdated school, and we just got much needed AC units this summer. The teachers are nice, however I feel as if some of them are more fit for a substituting role, not full time. Our resources are very limited, but have improved with the newly added personal laptops for educational purposes are greatly appreciated. The food here is straight up disgusting. You hardly see anyone anymore eating the cafeteria lunch. They either pack or don't eat at all. I think we could make meals tastier and still be healthy. Some students may only get that one meal, so it should be actually somewhat appetizing. Overall, with a few major and minor changes, this school could be one of the best. Go Maroons!"
