"As a small town school, Sissonville was calm and clean, unlike the schools in Charleston. Almost everyone got along, with only a handful of fights a year. I have heard reports of people being bullied in the middle school, but I came out as being gay in high school and I never faced any bullies. And if I did, I know all I would have to do is tell the principal and it would be taken care of. Sissonville really cares for its students. You know the teachers and administrators are there to help because they make you feel cared about."

"A lot of the teachers I had and knew have retired in the past couple years, but they were amazing at teaching and getting me involved. I know a few of the teachers that remain, and they always go above and beyond to make sure their students are learning and comfortable. The teachers at this school have a strong sense of community, which the students pick up on and therefore thrive."

"There are so many incredible people in this school. It's a small town school. There's a little over 500 students and it's one of those high schools we're everybody knows everybody. It's like we're just one big happy family trying to become adults. I would chose this school over and over again. That place was my second home. But sadly, you eventually grow apart from you home and find a new one. Overall, wonderful high school."
