"One of the great things about this school is the opportunity students have to take challenging courses, especially AP classes. We have the most AP classes in the state, and last year had the male state AP scholar in the graduating class (he and his twin now attend Yale). Some of the classes I've taken/am currently taking are: AP World History, AP Art History, AP Biology, AP English Literature, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science Programming, AP Government, and AP French!"

"For the most part, the teachers at my school are fantastic. After all, there's a reason GWHS is the top school in West Virginia. I've had the oppurtunity to take many amazing and advanced courses, and some of the teachers have literally transformed my life. Most of the teachers are willing to be flexible to accommodate students, especially those with learning disabilities. My teachers are very active, and most participate as the sponsor of one or more clubs at the school."

"Although we have a diverse student body, and even have student run clubs for these groups, such as Muslim Student Asociation and Gay Straight Alliance, there's a lot of intolerance. Maybe it's because we live in a fairly conservative state, but ever since Trump's rise, the racism has stepped up a notch. My Muslim friends have been called terrorists by other students, and gay slurs are often thrown around."

"One of my favorite parts of attending GW has been my computer science classes. Prior to taking computer science, I wanted to be an English major. After, I had switched to a computer programming major. The teacher is fantastic, and kind and doesn't stress people out. If she knows we have a heavy workload in other classes at a certain time, she'll move her tests and plans to make our lives a bit easier. I love that the school has such a wonderful tech department, and has so many classes. My teacher offers computer science, AP computer science principles, AP computer science programming, and advanced programming!"

"Moving into my final year at George Washington, I realize that I have been blessed enough to go to a pretty laid back institution. I am able to go off campus for lunch, have off periods for studying, and choose what classes I want to take. I can move at my own pace, without fear of falling behind. Sadly, more emphasis is put on athletics than the arts, but I feel as if that is most schools in the area. People just do not find the arts (on a high school level) as entertaining as a football or soccer game."
