"Looking back at my high school experience, I do wish some of the teachers were better but it was a very engaging and educational environment that will prepare me for college. In addition, my peers are now my best friends and it does feel lilke a community at school."

"Teachers at Bishop McGuinness definitely have the knowledge to teach lessons and help students. However, some teachers do not apply teaching skills to different types of learning or incorporate different types of teaching in daily lessons, which would make a major difference."

"Some of my teachers are very good at their job, such as my math, history, and art teachers. Others, like my chemistry teacher, do not teach as well as they should. I consider teachers to be outstanding if they thoroughly teach their subject, help their students to really learn the material that they are in class to learn, and communicate with all of their students well. My math teacher is exceptional because he taught us everything we need to know about pre calculus to move on to AP calculus. My AP chemistry teacher was a terrible teacher because she often gave us work that she did not explain how to do, or taught us incorrect information. She also made it very confusing to learn in her class because she often made many mistakes while doing problems so it was difficult to understand the proper way to do them."

"Being an art student, I always love fine arts day at our school because it is a great day to recognize the art and music students at our school. I also love all of my friends here, which is why I would choose to go here if I could do it all over again."

"In comparison to other schools, Bishop is truly unrivaled. The teachers care about their students, the students care about each other, and the community that this dynamic makes is unbreakable. When Mr. Repass died, the bishop community came together and supported one another. There were student organized prayer vigils, rock paintings, and general care for one another. Bishop is a family. The academics at bishop are extremely challenging (much more challenging than public school) and I feel extremely prepared for college. If you're worried about getting INTO the college of your choice instead of DOING WELL there, though, Bishop is not for you."
