"My name is Ashleigh Thorpe and I will be a sophomore at Bartlett Yancey High School after the summer break. I feel that overall it is a great school with the help of our wonderful principals but, I do feel that we don't have a budget for a lot of things like teachers for instance. I do love that the teachers we have try their best and don't give up on us. I also love that the whole facility makes sure we are in a safe environment. I do feel that the academics are great at our school it's just that most percentages of the students don't care about learning and there just there. Our diversity is good as well and everyone is treated equally even though it's always going to be a little bit of racism where ever you go. We do have a few clubs and activities that will benefit in the long run which is great. Overall I love my school I feel that they are doing a great job at getting me ready for college."

"I have been attending Bartlett Yancey for 4 years now, I have greatly enjoyed some parts of them, and others not so much. Bartlett Yancey may not have the best reputation, but we are a good school. We have a very strict principle who is ex-military and she runs a very tight schedule. Some may say she's too overbearing and that hate it here, but overall, her actions are for the better of the school and students."

"Bartlett Yancey High School is a very good school in some ways, but their are a lot of criterias that needs improvement. I enjoyed the friends I've made and the people I have connected with. I do feel they need to improve areas such as academics and athletics. I say this because I have seen too many talented athletes come to Bartlett Yancey High School and not make it further than High School because of academic failure or not having the right Coaches come into this School and actually motivate these athletes on and off the field. I can say this because my senior year our school grade was approximately a D+. On the other hand our Sports teams suffered, especially football and basketball. The reason being we didn't go to the playoffs until my senior year which hadn't been done in 20 years. So I would really like to see some effort and support applied into academics and sports such as football."

"I really appreciate that the school was able to provide Crome Books to every student this year. For being a small school, there are many opportunities for everyone to succeed. I hope the school can continue its push forward to educate every student to their best ability. I also hope that the school can improve on making sure that every student that goes home has a meal, so that they are not hungry"

"High school is awesome. These past three and a half years have been some of the best years of my life. The only complaint I have of these years is that my school is not the best academically. However, the sports, teachers, and my fellow students have been some of the best I could ask for."
