"My experience at this school was fine, but that being said, there are many changes to be made in terms of the school "culture" and the exclusivity of certain opportunities, especially as it pertains to certain clubs and organizations. There is a lack of preparedness for students who are college bound in terms of SAT and ACT prep, or general readiness. Despite the creation of SMARTLunch, designed to help academic success, there is little instructional time used because little can be done within a 30 minute time-frame. Finally, you must be prepared for a lack of diversity within classrooms, which is not only limited to race, but also, socio-political views."

"Like every high school, it depends on personal experience. There is an exciting program called "Smart Lunch". This gives students and hour for lunch and gives them time to visit classes that they are struggling in. Since the high school is in North Carolina, there are little resources available. Old books that are outdated and not enough chrome books for the classes that need them."

"This school has great teachers who care about their students. Each teacher has their own way of helping a student reach their goal. They want every student to walk across that stage."

"My experience at North Gaston High School was great. In 9th grade it was kinda shaky because I didn't know anyone there. But as the days went on it kept getting better and better. We also have a student section called the NOGA Nuts I joined that year. I was in the student section it was the best experience I ever had at a football game. The teachers are nice. But my favorite teachers are the gym teachers they are the most coolest I have ever met. My most favorite are the lunch ladies they are the best. In 10th grade we had a pep rally right before the first basketball game of the season and we got the spirit stick for the first time ever. We have this thing called smart lunch, that is where all the students in the school goes to lunch for a hour. North Gaston High School is the only school in the Gaston county school with smart lunch. That made my 11th grade year awesome. This year I am in the 12th grade and my experience gets better and better each day."
