"The academics offered at this school are not the best. many extracurricular classes seem good in the beginning and then the teacher stops caring about teaching. The workload is very manageable because teachers don't seem to care about homework very much mostly because they know that students will not do it."

"North Mecklenburg high school has given me good and bad experiences. I have made many new friends and have okay classes. There is little to no freedom at this school though. We cannot eat outside during lunch, we cannot stay on campus if you have a schedule that allows you go home early. There is no free time for students. It feels as though when you get to school it is more like a jail than a school setting. The school has problems with bugs and rodents and on a daily basis you could see something scurry past you on the wall or on the floor. There are a lot of fights happening within the student body on a daily basis as well."

"It is hard to be excepted in North Mecklenburg high school. I have noticed a large divide between students because race or sexual orientation. The school has done nothing to address this issue so it is more than likely that this problem will not change within the coming years. Peer pressure is also a big problem within the school. I have seen first hand students pressuring other student to do drugs, drink, and party with them."

"Some teachers at this school do help their students and try to understand what they are having difficulty with. Many others will not care able if the student is having trouble in class and will give a bare minimum answer and then Leave them to figure it out on their own. Many of the better teachers teach IB classes, Honors or Ap classes. If a teacher teaches both general classes and Ap classes they will more than likely treat the Ap students with more respect because they are in a higher level class. For the students who need a bit more help on a subject they will not give sufficient assistance to them."

"Some teachers actually try to be involved with the students academically but also socially outside of class (which is sort of a plus). Some teachers aren't really knowledgable about the course materials before they teach a class, so it is difficult for students to bridge gaps in the lectures. Most teachers are efficient at communicating with student in/out the classroom via email."
