"The teachers are extremely intelligent in what they are teaching. Many times they go above and beyond to make sure their students are getting the best possible. Most are very friendly and want to see their students be successful. They offer help when they see a student struggling and do their best to involve everyone in classroom conversation."

"I have been going to Southlake Christian Academy since I was eight years old and over the years the school has gone down hill. Primary school and middle school were not that bad but the expectations that the high school gives to the students are unreasonable. My main problem is that there is not a big variety of classes. There is not a huge say in the classes that I took until my junior year. Some of the teachers are not qualified in my opinion. They are only teaching because their child goes to that school. Even with several complaints the school rarely gets rid of teachers because they would be loosing the enrollment of their children. That being said I have had some positive experience at Southlake. It is nice to be in a school that lets you pray openly. I have made some of the best friends and relationships that would not be possible without Southlake. One of my favorite memories is from the awesome sport teams I have been apart of at Southlake."

"I came to this school at the start of sixth grade and right away I felt welcomed by the staff and students. This school and I feel like my grade especially is very different from other schools and senior classes. Everyone in my grade is close to each other. Though we may have started off in little groups and cliques as the years progressed our friendships grew. I feel like a huge reason why we are all so close with one another is because of the teachers. The teachers get everyone involved. From group projects to seating charts there have been multiple ways where I became close with someone thanks to a teacher. Though my school is much smaller compared to others I would not want to change the people in it for anything. From sixth grade to senior year I have made friendships with so many people. Many kids not have that opportunity and I am very grateful that I have had the privilege."

"SouthLake is a school where the administration act as if the students and families of the students don't exist. Any problem a student or parent has is not dealt with in the slightest, and nothing changes. It has gotten to a point at which I personally think the reason every problem anyone has must be submitted in writing is simply that it can be thrown in the trash without being looked at. The school is in general, run very inefficiently, and rules are made to prevent situations that have not, and probably never will be, a problem. There is also a problem with how money is managed (even aside from the big money scandal) because it seems like nothing has been purchased to further the education of the students since 1998 other than the infamous smart boards that teachers often have no idea how to use, whereas the football feild has obviously changed DRASTICALLY. There are a select few teachers who know how to teach, I'm guessing because of an inappreciable salary. On the bright side, the academics are rigorous, which looks good for college, Christian values are hit hard and often, and the lunches are pretty nice considering we only have to pay around 4.50 per meal."

"Overall, the longer you stay at southlake, the better teachers you get. The freshman teachers are strict and rude and take it upon themselves to teach you that "this isn't middle school" By the time you get to senior year you can predict teacher's testing style and it becomes much easier. The teachers for the seniors are also a lot more trusting and kind."
