"They are mostly absolutely wonderful. Almost all of them absolutely love what they teach and, perhaps most importantly, they know you insanely well."

"Teachers at Woodlawn make an effort to get to know the students. By the time that you're through senior year teachers will know your strengths, weaknesses, extracurriculars, and personality. They are always accessible through their email and usually respond promptly. Teachers make every effort to teach the material appropriately and they appropriately curve or offer make-up when the entire class comes across issues. Students and teachers have a strong trust that allows for many opportunities not possible in other schools."

"Woodlawn is definitely one of a kind. The small class sizes have their ups and downs. One of the positives is the tight knit bond created that resembles a family. Each class knows each member and their quirks so well it turns into one large dysfunctional family. Some say that this is the downside of Woodlawn as they think that it lacks the social scene, but the argument for that is that you make friends with people you would have never talked to before and you learn how to work with people you may not like because they are the ones around. One of my favorite traditions is Woodlawn Day because of the history behind it. The school is situated on 60 acres of old plantation land and Woodlawn Day allows students to take a step back in time and explore the history. The new students always go on a tour of the old plantation house that serves as the office building while other students play games, garden, go on nature walks, and enjoy popsicles. Each grade also comes through the gym where they learn how to square dance. A select group of high schoolers lead this. Afterwards, everyone comes back to the gym for a school wide square dance."

"Having been at this school for a decade, I can honestly say that I have no regrets about my time here. The teachers are phenomenal and really know their students. The inclusive atmosphere and driven student body promotes learning at a level not found at other schools. The focus on writing skills gives alums an advantage in college that most freshmen don't have."

"Woodlawn creates an environment where students are encouraged to be curious, to explore and to be comfortable in their own skin. Graduates tend to be academically ambitious, extremely self aware, and eternally curious."
