"I totally disagree and will continue to disagree with the previous post. Everyone is NOT failing their classes. If you want proof, please look at the number of scholarships offered Luella's students and you will understand why. It is nice to know that you are continuing to receive help from your previous high school. That is what a teacher should do. Unfortunately, I have heard negative things about the school you are talking about. I agree with many of the posts concerning parental involvement. Parents who are involved will always see a difference. I have seen first hand, teachers who remain late, sometimes until after six to tutor students. Parents such as these are on board. Luella cares. Every school has problems. However, LHS believe in putting student's first and sorting through those problems."

"I came from SandyCreek highschool in Fayette county. This school is horrible. The teachers don't teach , the students are disrespectful, and everyone is failing all their classes when they have a hour and a half study hall. If you're not use to block schedule then you wont like this school either. You have 4 classes a day more than a hour. I'm thankful i'm only here for one year. Their acdemics are so far behide as well. I'm getting help from my old teacher from SCHS so I can stay on the right path. I'm tranferring out this school and I've only been here a month. I just can't take it. We're getting out of Henry county as soon as we can."

"My son is in the 10th grade and he is involved in both marching band and clubs. He is also in the honors and AP program. The teachers are dedicated and show they care. There is constant communication and my son is enjoying his time there. Like any school, there are kids with different personalities, but my son has managed to surround himself with a great group of peers that build each other up. The marching band is competitive and they push the kids to excel. It is a big school and it's somewhat overcrowded, but that will all change next year when the new Hampton High School opens and half of the kids will go there."

"I have a son that graduated from Luella (2011) and a daughter who is a freshman. Like most schools, Luella has a problem with over crowding and behavior. The administration or the faculty are not responsible for those problems. They do the best they can with what they have. Some of the parents need to discipline their children and the school days will be more productive. My daughter is a 13 yr old 9th grader and has all A's and is doing several honors classes. She has no disciplinary problems and is a member of the school's track team My son was on the football team, the track team, a member of DECA and Distinguished Gentlemen. He was also a Student Ambassador who travelled to Australia in 2008 representing his school and community."

"The new principal is wonderful. He cares about the kids and is doing wonders in improving school spirit. Keep up the good work Mr. Smith!"
