"South Effingham High School was a great building block in my life. I think the attitude of the school and how things are run really got me ready for college. My success my freshman year of college is strictly a result of South Effingham High School. The only change I would like to see be made is more focus on sports."

"This was my first year attending South Effingham High School. Before this year I had always gone to private school so it was my first public school experience. My first few months were rough since my credits did not transfer so I had to retake most of my classes. So the one thing I would really like to see change is not just South Effingham. I would like to see students from any school with any type of accreditation be able to switch school and their credits transfer. However, at South Effingham the teachers are great and i really enjoy most of the atmosphere."

"SEHS has a majority white student body, and staff. However, most minorities are in their own cliques and don t leave them. The school focuses more on sports especially football. Other teams suffer as a result, such as wrestling who have mats and uniforms in sad conditions. Classes suffer as a result; most classes have books ten years or older. The new staff they hire are either inexperienced or lack passion. However, the school s older staff tend to be more knowledgeable and caring towards students. The school is fair condition, janitors are always busy. The school could improve its morale by losing its uniform policy. The staff allows the favored students to dress as they like with little limit. This affects the morale of other students who are punished for the same thing. That's just for simple thing such as, 'skinny pants', piercings (nose rings, etc.), and unnatural hair colors. The school needs to improve the morale and focus more on helping students versus stressing them."

"Overall South Effingham was great but there were a few parts that I would change. Mainly the fact that the administration is rude 95% of the time because they think they are so superior to us students but as well as how some teachers decide to teach only certain ways because that's how they liked being taught but it is very important to teach in multiple ways to make sure students understand materials to the best of their abilities."
