"I graduated in 2011, so things may have changed since. My biggest issue with the school was the lack of mental health resources available. The only time any staff ever intervened with me was to force me into a small room with a security officer and grill me on if my strange behavior was due to drugs, until I started crying from anxiety. Counselors didn't exist for personal help, only to answer questions about schedules and college. I failed two classes and racked up multiple absences due to dealing with my depression and anxiety and not once was mental health openly discussed in any venue, or resources given. I can't know for sure what choices I would have made with those resources, but I find the fact that they weren't present appalling in retrospect."

"Strict, yet not at the same time, mixed in race, and larger for a small school. Shaped real funny, so it takes forever to walk from class to class. Students have no respect for property. Has mice, snakes, and frogs. It is nice though to get certifications in Engineering, Ag, Culinary, and Health Science."

"My experience at Marianna High was wonderful for the most part. I personally love the strictness of the administrators because it keeps all the students in line. Also I love that the administration makes the students follow the dress code that is in place because without it kids would come to school in anything they could get away with. Something that I would like to see change would be to show equal appreciation to all school groups, clubs, and organizations. For example our basketball team made it to state last year and the whole season they asked for a pep rally but didn't get one then the week of the state championship game the administration wanted to give them one. Another instance is our Brain Bowl Team got first place in one of their torments and weren't acknowledged at all. Lastly Marianna High is a wonderful place to expand your knowledge and brighten your horizons."

"I love my school, I have to be honest. I love the size and I love that the principal knew all of our names. Many of my teachers (with the obvious exception of a few) are great people that teach very well, and I hope I will keep in touch with them long after graduation. If I could change anything, it would probably be the uniforms. I personally feel that uniforms have no place in the public school system."

"I am a junior at Marianna. All in all, it is not a bad school. Just like all schools in the Florida public education system, it has its flaws. There are pros such as that we have fun school traditions, like Activity Day. But we also have cons, such as a strict dress code and a unnecessary amount of rules that we have to abide by."
