"I am really glad that I chose to attend the Academy of Arts and Minds. It is not like any other high school for many reasons. First of all, it's student body is much smaller than regular schools. This makes it easier to build friendships because you really get to know most of your classmates. For the most part, students are very friendly and will help you with any struggles. Bullying issues are very rare. Issues of being tardy to class are rare as well because the building is pretty easy to get around. I believe that the size of the school is a positive aspect because it allows for teachers to build a more personal relationship with their students and that affects how they treat them, how they learn, how they feel about the subject, and the overall experience of a class. Since it is a performing arts school we have very talented students and a diverse group. There is no such thing as "the popular kids". Since we are all so different, we have no choice but to get along or atleast tolerate each other. It is an environment that makes any type of person feel accepted. One of the most unique things about A&M is that instead of Pep Rallies, we occasionally do "AmPops". These events consist of leaving class to attend performances on the plaza. This is an amazing thing about our school because it reveals the talents of the students, their growth, and what they have been learning from our strand classes. It brightens up our school day and keeps it fun so that we get out of the constant classroom routine, inspires other students, and since we are located in the center of Coconut Grove we even attract the attention of the surrounding pedestrians! Another detail that makes school much more pleasant is that the classrooms' walls are large and window-like. This can be a psychological aspect that helps students not feel so trapped or enclosed as is the usual feeling when you're in a large school. Overall this highschool has made me feel comfortable and I sure would do it again!"

"The teachers at my school are some of the most special teachers I have had in all my life because they genuinely care about our learning and about our highschool experience as a whole. They put forth effort to create instructive lesson plans that are relatable to our lives so that we are more engaged and interested in their class. Instead of simply giving us busy work to meet grading requirements, they give us assignments that properly assess and put to practice our understanding. They make sure that we are actively participating and that we are given the information we need to actually learn something from the lesson. They present it in different teaching styles so that we are never bored and it works for all students' learning types. The teachers are very intelligent and knowledgable about their subject because when we ask questions they are always able to answer and explain extra things such as fun facts that help tie everything together to make sense. The most unique thing about the teachers at Academy of Arts and Minds is that they truly dedicate their time for students to be able to have fun extra curricular activities and they motivate us to be involved and attend activities."

"My experience at this school hasn't been to bad simply because of the dance program. I would not be the dancer i am today nor would i have gotten the opportunities i have if it weren't for the teachers. I am so thankful for meeting them and having them as my teachers. They have believed in me and pushed me like never before my past four years here."
