"I started Mortimer Jordan when I was a freshman. Coming to a new school was scary. The high school has just been build a year before and I didn't know what to except. Through the years I gained some of the best friends in the world. I made memories that I wouldn't trade. I was involved in National Honors Society, Christian Student Involved, First Priority, Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Future Business Leaders of America, Prom Committee, and track all while going to school and working. For a high school student this can be very stressful at times but everyone at Mortimer Jordan always did their best to make sure you had the best experience possible. My senior year our football team made it to the championship game of playoffs and played in Bryant Denny Stadium. Although we lost, I'll never forget the feeling of seeing my best friends play so hard at a game that they loved and all for a school that they loved. The amount of support our sports, band and academic teams receive is amazing. Everyone supports and encourages everyone no matter who you are. I am so incredibly thankful that I graduated from in my opinion the best high school in the world! I'll always be a Blue Devil at heart!!"

"When homecoming week rolls around each year the students explode with excitement. They walk through the halls with eagerness in each step, traveling from class to class in the most ridiculous costumes for the dress up week. In this week, I believe the school's uniqueness shines. Students and faculty gather in the gym for pep-rallies that outmatch any for all the year. We chant together and cheer together, sticking together to shout and have one another's back in tournaments and trials for the grade levels. We gather together in a way that exemplifies how strong of a family we are. How strong of a school we are. I would not ever change a single moment I have spent with this school. I sincerely believe there is none better to attend."

"Most students choose to get involved in honors classes (AP) and others do half honors and half regular depending on level of intensity and interests. The classroom keeps you engaged and often overly prepares for college (as some alumni have stated), but overall helps consistently to prepare for college and work life readiness. In many classes the teacher may require you to speak in front of the class to develop public speaking skills. There is a large focus on the sports, but an even larger focus on the academics."

"I have been involved with the honors program starting in middle school, and coming into high school my expectations were quickly matched. High school is a whole level higher than middles school, and the transition in 9th grade swept us off our feet. The teachers keep us engaged and constantly challenge our abilities. Going into the 12th grade now, I could not ask for better teachers. Each has their own teaching style and use their knowledge not only for school lessons but also life lessons. Each displays an interest in the students and go above and beyond to help them succeed. In order to develop our communication skills as a classroom, each teacher has assigned group projects and individual projects to present to the classroom and grades accordingly."

"Due to the school being like a family environment, there is little peer pressure and a very high acceptance of ethnic groups, religious views, and sexual orientation. Though students may disagree with one's religious view or sexual orientation, they are quick to accept them and understand their views."
