"This school is a joke. The teacher student ratio is a COMPLETE lie. Both my children declined substantially their last year at the Capitol school. Dr Rountree is the root of the problem. She promises the world with no plans on delivering. When approached about the sub par education she launches a counter attack refusing any accountability. If you ask for verification of scholarships offered and average ACT scores over the past years you will see her true colors. She even went as far as to lie to the administration of the school I transferred my children to in order to block their acceptance. She is the laughing stock of school administration in Tuscaloosa. Do your children a favor, run away from this sad excuse of a school."

"TCS is a FOR PROFIT school that has (1) no textbooks, (2) no lunchroom, and (3) no gymnasium (or other appropriate athletic facilities). The school is horribly disorganized with a ridiculous amount of turnover among the teachers and students. The Principal is scatter-brained and in constant need of attention. She will not send out e-mails or newsletters to communicate. Instead, she likes to meet with each parent individually. The teachers who are good tend to grow tired of the lack of resources, lack of organization and silly drama (There is no other way to describe it.) that occurs among the administrators, teachers, and parents. They do NOT do background checks on teachers, or choose to hire teachers with criminal backgrounds (last one discovered in 2016). There is no real security at the school. Initially, I liked seeing students with disabilities in the classroom, but those students tend to be leaving and it is just another disorganized mess where I cannot figure out the mission of the school....other than $$$$$$."

"In 2016, a teacher was fired or asked to resign because a parent found out he had a violent criminal record. They do not screen the teachers well, or perhaps not at all. The teachers who are good tend to leave and begin work elsewhere; the turnover of teachers is ridiculous. The student handbook is a joke, so any teacher on a power trip can harass students (usually the ones with learning disabilities or struggles regarding any given subject) until the parents decide to leave the school. There is no curriculum carried out from year to year, in part because the administration is so sloppy, but that means that the teachers are left to decide for themselves what material should be covered - There is no standard. Not only does that affect the students who transfer in or out of the school, but it also affects those students who attend the school for several years consecutively because the turnover of teaching staff leads to chaos where the shoddily-designed curriculum that can affect students for entire school years. The Principal absolutely will not listen to any parent complaints (and there have been many). Instead, she just hires different teachers when the good ones get tired of not having the resources and guidance they feel they need."

"My child left the school scoring LOWER on the Star test than when he started. The director failed to see the problem and instead attacked my child. We have been in many school districts across the country and never experienced such corruption and blatant unaccountability than at this school. I challenge anyone to even consider it a school unless you want to learn how to lie and manipulate the public into thinking you are something you aren't"
