"this high school was not very receptive to our family as we had relocated from another state and were not related to anyone nor did we grew up there and we were treated as outsiders with everything."

"some of teachers are amazing and go out of their way to help the students and others are just there."

"All but a couple of our teachers would go above and beyond for any student. They are knowledgable in their subject areas and our small climate creates a perfect place for student and teacher relationships to appropriately form."

"I know most parents in our school might not care as much as in other schools, but they are still involved."

"If I had children, I would not let them attend this school. But, I would still attend because of the hidden gem opportunities. The class sizes are small, so tutoring and help is always readily available. The problem is that very few students take advantage of it. 90% of students do not care about their grades or after high school planning. Another hidden gem are the club opportunities- French (my favorite), Eco, Christian Student Union, Student Council, Gaming, FFA, ROTC- whatever you are interested in, we have a club for it. UCHS is unique because we have a one hour lunch. This makes clubs, tutoring, and countless other activities possible for students that cannot participate after school because of transportation, jobs, sports, etc. The main complaint is that sports are too praised in our school. Baseball players can skip 1st, 2nd, and 3rd period because of a "late game", but CSU members who drove 3 hours to volunteer at Operation Christmas Child cannot skip any. A football player who ran x amount of yards in Friday's game gets a congratulatory announcement, but a fellow student who made a 35 on the ACT goes unnoticed. This imbalance shows our county's lack of maturity and equality across the board. But, the teachers whom do care and whom do make education the top priority easily make up for the imbalance."
