"Nelson county is a small high school with many good and bad sides. A few good things i like are the teachers and counselors they are always willing to help in anyway possible. The teacher for the most part are very good and thorough but a bad side is the limit on classes. There isn't a huge selection of classes either art, ag, or a vocational class. It's not easy to know what you want to do coming from a school like this considering the limited classes. Another downfall would be cardinal crew/academic time, these classes are unnecessary and don't really have any reasoning besides the fact of helping students who really struggle. Aside from academics the food is another topic there aren't many selections, but the food is good. Another thing Nelson could improve in is clubs. There aren't too many clubs and the school needs to have more that everyone can be a part of instead of just select students being in these clubs."

"I still currently go to NCHS. Its a great environment and has great teachers. Something that i wish to change at NCHS is the violence to make it a safer place"

"Nelson County High School served me well my four years attending. I always have enjoyed school so I don't have much of anything to complain about necessarily, but I do wish to thank the teachers who I had that pushed me further with all the answers to my questions, the help when I needed it, and the being able to have a fun and exciting senior year that made me excited about attending college afterwards. I loved being able to attend this high school. The only thing I would change would be the way students treated their professors. There are many kids who don't understand the importance of being nice to authorities. My first semester in college I've never heard of anyone disrespecting their professors or any other faculty members. High school would go by much easier if everyone was treated fairly and equally. No teacher, ever, should receive disrespect from students. Especially since they work way too hard to help every single student towards a successful future."

"I liked how my teachers genuinely cared about their students. I loved how the school strove to prepare all students for the future, making sure we were college and career ready. Students' school spirit in general could be improved."

"It may not be the best school in the world but most of the staff actually care about you and do everything they can to make sure their students do not fail in classes and they always keep students on track to graduate."
