"Southern high school isn't a place to send your child or a place they should want to go. The school punishes in a crew way. they want to put everyone in ROTC and if you want to get out the counselors will not work in your favor because they want the program to stay. You get three hall passes to go to the bathroom a trimester and if you use them all and still want to go you will get ISAP or further punishment. coming to school late marks as half of a tardy and if you have 9 tardies you will not attend prom no exceptions. The only thing the counselors will help with is class changes no at home help or any problem solving personal nor college. This school isn't up to part with any clubs or activities, everything dies out or the school cant afford it. Southern used to have after school tutoring you could stay after school on certain days to get help or finish test if that teacher would let you. now you have to have to beg a teacher to stay after and take a test or you have do it because that teacher will set up a day that's only good for them. The assistant principles don't care about you having a case because the teacher is always right in there case. you will go to ISAP regardless or suspended no matter your case. Teachers will say "this trimester we will learn about how to get a job, apply for scholarships, learn how to file taxes and learn about house/apartment leases." That is not the case at all you will learn elementary school ways of completing sentences. Chem. is nothing like on T.v. you will have like 5 times you go in the lab to watch a teacher do things or you will just sit and jot down numbers while going things 1st grades would do. Math is really hard as the teachers will do what they can and that's it, if you don't get it they'll try and walk away and its up to you but when you fail a test or get a bad grade they'll yell at you. I do not recommend anyone to go to Southern high school. There are a lot more schools out there that offer better things"
