"Madison Central provides a pretty diverse community. At central, the majority of the students are of the white race, yet there are several students who are African American, Mexican, Kenyan, Muslim, and even Chinese. Central also accepts foreign exchange students who are mostly from different part of Europe. Not only are the students diverse, but the teachers as well. As you walk through the hall at Madison Central High School, you will see a good mix of cultures."

"There isn't as much of a problem with culture as there is with diversity. Race isn't much of an issue either, it's mostly with gays. There's a lot of controversy at my school as to whether students agree that being gay is okay or not. There's a club called Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) that organizes a day known as a "day of silence", where gays and whomever agrees that being gay is okay wears tape over their mouths and doesn't speak to honor them. There are many arguments and controversies between students on this day especially. There are even instances where parents won't let their children go to school on this day because of their disagreance."

"Central offers a variety of different classes for all students. They offer basic or general courses that are required to graduate. With those courses they also offer, advanced courses that get you the same credit yet challenges you more then the basic class would. Normally in a basic course, the work is extremely easy because everyone has to pass and receiving an A is a pretty simple task, where as in the advanced course it would be harder. For elective classes, students are pushed to take classes that would lead you to complete a career pathway. Pathways offered include, per-nursing, welding, mechanics, carpentry, business management, etc. Getting into these courses could be challenging because of the size of the school, and also most of these courses are located in the Kentucky Vocational Tech building across the street, which is offers classes to students in surrounding counties as well. Our counselors do a very good job of making sure that our students get first dibs on those classes."

"There are a few teachers who are sometimes too lenient when it comes to doing work, so the class doesn't do much work. In these classes, not much is being taught which means not a lot is being learned. On the other hand, there are some fantastic teachers like the AP US History teacher and the AP European History teacher who are phenomenal teachers. They're able to teach the curriculum (which isn't easy at all) in the most understandable ways and always engage with the students. They give study guides and even some tutoring after school sometimes for one on one questions."

"There are some teachers who don't push their students to work hard, they don't give much class work or really teach. They're not always engaged when it comes to teaching, but rather just talking to students or doing their own thing. However, there are many exceptionally well teachers who almost go over and beyond with their teachings. They engage themselves in their students' work and progress. They're able to help those who might need more of an explanation by offering after school tutoring and allow students to ask questions in class. Those kind of teachers make learning more enjoyable and easier for students"
