"Its a great school for academics. It will not be the best four years of your life as the school doesn't have much spirit in sports or extra curricular activities. The tone in the hallways is almost always negative and the academics are so hard that nobody attends social activities on the weekdays."

"It was a fine institution of learning. I felt as though I received the education I needed to receive in order to get to where I wanted to go. But the social aspect of it, the idea of kids WANTING to dress in school colors and get pumped up at pep rallies isn't our school. The students don't LOVE St. Joe. They go there because their friends are, or their parents are making them. They don't go because it is the most enjoyable school to attend. It isn't but it will give you the best opportunity to succeed past high school. To me, there are two side of school: concrete and abstract. The concrete side are the numbers: grades, tests, applications, letters of recommendation, SAT/ACT, etc. The abstract side is the social side: things like crying when it is over, painting your body school colors, doing crazy awesome things at pep rallies that remind people why they love the school, mascots doing crazy tricks, seniors pulling pranks and teachers letting it happen because its fun for both sides, etc. St. Joe has a fantastic concrete side. But they have an absolutely atrocious abstract side. The administration is suffocating, the teachers are grade bias, and one students mistake ruins every event, act, or idea that any other student may have."

"Teachers are okay. They try to help as much as possible. Some even stay after classes to help you."

"Most of the teachers are great; knowledgeable, helpful, and engaging, but there are a few who aren't as good"
