"The teachers at Utica are some of the best around, but the administration and board restricts their teaching abilities. I would love to see a bit more leniency in regards to field trip availabilities, lab experiments, and more respect towards the hardworking staff (teachers, counselors, etc.)."

"Utica High School provides many opportunities for it's students as well as an attempted safe place for the diverse pool of attendees. They are many organizations to involve oneself in as well as a large variety of advisers. Personally, I was involved in Yearbook for two years, and I quite enjoyed it, especially since we're lucky enough to be recognized as prestigious press. UHS doesn't lack teacher's presence. MOST teachers are willing to go out of their ways to aid students in being successful especially with before school and after school study sessions. UHS plans to make it's students active members of the community and does a satisfactory job in doing so."

"UHS will give you a slightly above average public high school education. However, in terms of college prep, it is not your best bet. Many graduates continue on to MCC and local state colleges, but there is definitely not a lot of encouragement or support given to students by faculty and the administration to go the extra mile and really academically strive. In general, teachers teach to the test and state guidelines and do not promote student intellectual growth. I personally felt very unprepared for college and struggled to adapt despite having a solid ACT score and having taken many AP classes at UHS. The teachers are really hit or miss at UHS and even the teachers who genuinely care about doing their job well are lacking in adequately preparing students for college. The guidance/advising center is likewise miles behind in terms of providing support for students going to college. UHS has little to no diversity, but then again people may have different definitions of diversity...."

"Utica High School is a great high school to be honored with going to. The fellow students are friendly and welcoming and you can easily become fast friends with your peers. Most of the teachers I have had have been great, even though there have been a few bad apples along the way, but the overall experience with them has been very good. Many of the teachers help with SAT practice that can calm the nerves of nervous juniors. Many of the sports teams do well, but some of them are lacking in aspects that there could be improvement in. The school grounds are safe, and accessible to anyone that needs accommodations, and there is a very diverse set of students. The school makes you feel welcomed to any clubs or activities that you would be interested in. Overall, Utica High School is a great place to get a good education at."

"What i like about Utica high school is the electives that one can take at the school, it lets you take classes that you want to try out before college so you can figure out classes you need or want to take in college for a career one is going for."
