"There isn't really any discrimination based of your racial/ethnic background, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, economic status, or anything. Students are often involved in clubs, sports, or other extracurriculars. There's no peer pressure."

"All of my honors/AP teachers have been amazing! They each have unique teaching styles that work for what they expect from each student. Some teachers use a more lecture-style teaching while others do more student-led projects or activities. The topics are usually engaging, even if they are on subjects that don't really interest you. The teachers I've had have been mostly willing to meet outside of class if I need- though some can't do that all the time because they have young children. Their grading is consistent, even with essays and other free-writing exercises, and each teacher explains their grading expectations beforehand. Most of my teachers have been interested in getting to know me and my peers on more personal levels because they really care about each student. That being said, I have heard things about other teachers that teach the regular or essentials level classes. Students in those classes have said that those teachers don't always care about the students as much as honors/AP teachers, they have fluctuating grading scales, there are too many tests and quizzes in a row, or they just seem to not know how to properly teach the material. I've never experienced anything like this with my teachers, however. From my personal experience, every teacher is at least somewhat willing to help if you just ask and show initiative."

"Overall, I really like Simley. All of my teachers are great and go out of their way to help the students. There have been times where, if I am unable to see my own teacher, I can just ask a different teacher who teaches the same subject for help and they'll be more than willing to help me, even though I'm not their student. The teachers also care about students beyond academics- if they notice one student is upset they will take the time to talk with them or find a friend of the student's to help them. The administration is very nice and many of them know the students by name and will engage them in conversation. Most of the students follow school policy and there have been very few times that I haven't felt safe. That being said, there are quite some fights between students, but the faculty takes care of them within a minute or two. With fairly small grades, most of the students at Simley know each other and will talk with each other. Simley is, overall, a good school with a strong sense of community among the faculty, students, and parents."

"Some of my favorite experiences at this school are the sporting events. It is a time where the whole community comes together and supports one another. You can really see how much the parents, staff and students care about each other. It is always a fun time getting together and keeps the students spirits up too!"

"Most of the teachers really show that they care about the students and want them to learn. The teachers that are comfortable to communicate with are better at showing their interest for the students and keep them better engaged in school activities and learning."
