"Teachers are very kind and are usually very flexible; meaning if you aren't understanding something, need extra help, cannot attend class for a period of time due to circumstances, or just need to talk to someone, they will often help you and make sure everything is good for you. Teachers usually have similar grading scales and keep the same grading scale and process for the entire year. Teachers are usually very knowledgeable in their subject, for example a teacher who is teaching classes about the medical field used to work in that field. Overall, teachers are often kind and helpful towards all students."

"There is an extremely wide range of academics available at this school including subject matter and difficulty range. There are many different teachers that help widen the range of courses such as a medical teacher that teaches classes having to do with the medical field or several art teachers that offer many different forms of art classes including ceramics and photography along with a second or follow up course to many of the offered courses such as photography 2. The curriculum is pretty basic but is quite flexible so a student may take what interests and benefits them rather than what they are told or forced to take. The scheduling process includes signing up for the following year of classes at the end of the current year, obtaining your schedule towards the end of the summer, and going in either during the kick off days, open house nights, or the first week of school in order to fix any issues. Your workload will depend on several factors including the classes taken, the teacher, and the difficulty level."

"Students are very involved in the school from making the school more eco-friendly to school pride and spirit to making sure school rules are fair and followed. Peer pressure at this school is very minimal, I have personally never received it at this school. The only peer pressure I have seen occur is pressuring one another to do their best, not give up, and work hard. I think for the most part, people are accepting of one another. I have heard of instances where peers have created degrading polls about one another; however, this is often shut down very quickly and opposed by the majority of students. In regard to ethnic/racial diversity, there is not very much currently at this school. There is some diversity but for the most part, it is quite the same. I personally am in a very diverse circle of friends in terms of ethnic/racial/sexual orientation diversity so I tend to think there is more diversity than there is. There is a pride club which was just recently formed; this club celebrates different ethnicities, races, sexual orientations, and religious standpoints. So while the diversity in this school is currently quite low; it is rising."

"This school is a very good environment to learn in because of how kind and accepting the student body is of each other. Bullying is very low and I have personally never experienced nor seen it occur at this school. There is a large amount of diverse clubs/groups that students can be involved in. What makes this school unique is that it is constantly evolving in terms of technology and content presented in class and the students in the school are amazing people. I would choose to go to this school again because its one of the best schools in the area which allowed for greater opportunities and chances to excel."

"I love the connection between the students at Mankato West. Most schools have bullying problems, yet very little of that happens at Mankato West. From athletics to other extracurriculars, there is an extreme sense of support from student to student."
